The fifth week of 2020 was full of pain killers, trouble sleeping, world war II documentaries and liquid food. I had my tonsils removed and the recovery process began this week with great excitement and also a ton of pain. But it was also home to an other important event. January 29, 2020 was the four year anniversary of my picture-a-day project!
The picture-a-day project is something I started doing in high school, gave up on after a few months and then picked up again when I was 21 after returning from my study abroad program. I am extremely thankful to my past self for getting off my ass and actually starting it, because keeping it up is much easier than starting it from scratch. I genuinely hope to continue the project for as long as I am physically able to. It is a rewarding personal journey and it gives me an opportunity to try new techniques and experiment.
Since I was off work recovering from my surgery (and also periodically a little high from the pain meds), I thought it would be a good opportunity to work on getting out a polished 4 year anniversary export.
And, fun fact: I didn't finish it this week. But I made a lot of progress! But yeah... I didn't finish even a little bit. Check back in next week's post for the polished export.
To make up for lack of actual new content this week, here is the picture-a-day project I did when I was 15 and gave up on after a couple months. I would be embarrassed to share this here but thankfully nobody reads this blog, so I'm basically sharing it with myself and I already know how stupid I looked at 15. :)
